 It’s almost here.  Rough details of the route (so far) Feb 5th: Flying from Birmingham to Doha with Qatar Air — 14:05 Feb 5th -7th: in Doha at the Four Points Sheraton (a dry hotel!)  Feb 7th: Fly from Qatar to Kuala Lumpur (evening) - then  a train at 13:35 to Butterworth in Penang, then to Georgetown by ferry staying in downtown Georgetown at the Royale Chulan Hotel (3 nights) Feb 11th: Flying from Penang to Johor Bahru and then by (Mass Rapid Transit) train to Singapore for a 2 night stay at Iyf One-North

Hotel Deli River: the pool

 Spending two days ‘respite’ by the splendid pool at our Sumatra retreat has been much appreciated. We ‘overdid’ the sun perhaps on the first day and instead of dining on lobster we looked like one. The friendly staff at the hotel serve drinks to our sunbeds. The sound of the fountain, the noise from the mosques, the butterflies & flora make it a magical experience.
