Feb 18: The Deli River Hotel, Medan

After almost two weeks of traveling between Qatar, Malaysia and Singapore to rest here for a few days has been beneficial. The charm of the cluster of chalets in a tropical garden, the superb outdoor pool, has de-stressed us and soothed weary feet. So charmed were we that we hurriedly booked a third night to further unwind. Situated between two mosques we are, several times a day, called to prayer by the dulcet tones of the celebrant.
